Golden Gate Gallery started out in our basement as just a framing business. Throughout the years we became aquainted with friends and artists that we met through the music we love so much. Golden Gate Gallery slowly transformed and our dream became reality.
Golden Gate Gallery began it's journey in downtown Asheville, North Carolina. Our first art show, The Night of the Dead, we portrayed our dream to the community. The Night of the Dead was a sensory celebration of the Grateful Dead, and the art that has grown within it’s community;featuring Jerry Garcia, Jay Blakesberg, Bill Kreutzmann, Snail, and Prankster Art. All proceeds from the show were given to Manna Food bank in Asheville.
Soon following, Travelling on a High Frequency, which featured the Fantasy and Rock Art of Richard Biffle, and Rock-n-Roll photos by Jay Blakesberg. Both artists attended, creating Rock N Roll Art History.
The next art show, Days Between, featured the paintings and photography of Sandy N. Bowles and Chris W. Nelson. Days Between pictured a story of memories from Richard Nixon's 2nd Inauaguration through George Bush Jr's presidency; made in between those events , during those events, and presented as a visual novel/diary.
Golden Gate Gallery has hosted two Warren Haynes Christmas Jam By Day Art Show. All proceeds from the show benefited Habitat for Humanity.
Golden Gate Gallery is devoted to quality, inexpensive custom framing using frames that grow trees* and UV protective glass at a fair price. Bring us your art and you'll see what we mean.
